How Home Project Cost Planner builds estimate ranges
Home Project Cost Planner is a planning tool, not a contractor quote service. Each calculator uses versioned project configurations with material allowances, labor allowances, removal assumptions, permit allowances, and contingency settings.
What the ranges mean
Low, mid, and high values are deterministic outputs from the visible inputs. They help homeowners compare scope and prepare contractor questions. They do not guarantee local pricing, availability, code compliance, or final invoice cost.
Update policy
Calculator assumptions are reviewed when new project data, user feedback, or material/labor changes justify an update. V1 avoids copied competitor text, city doorway pages, and proprietary price tables.
